what is that black electric thing on the housing

ampz 10-12-2008 07:33 PM

would the fredio plate act as a sort of gasket between the mani and turbo?

curious

would it maybe flex and warp? (doubtful as it is quite thick)

Stock Manifold modified to turbo manifold FTW!!!!

in theory I'd say it would have too whether it leaked or not just based on the fact that it is located between the two. If it's flat, and both flanges are flat, there's no leaks.

yes... I can't stop thinking about the OE turbo manifestation.

Actually, are we talking about the OP's picture, or m2cupcar's picture? I was talking about the black plastic thing on the compressor of THIS photo:

Attachment 210573
Which IIRC was an OEM's speed sensor. I could still be wrong on this, however.

Attachment 210574
Obviously the black thing hanging off this is the Syclone/Typhoon's #1997152 PWM Solenoid... ;)

I'm talking about m2cupcars picture. I'm right, you are wrong. I'll leave it there.

Rob, if I were a yank I'd be suing you for stealing my foot fetish pics and publicly humiliating me with them ;-)

No, you need something relatively soft to make a gasket. I have two multilayer steel gaskets on that, one on top, one on the bottom.

Yeah you are right, but do you have to be so mean about it? :-p It's the OEM PWM solenoid for boost control on the cummins in the dodge ram it came out of. I hope to one day use it for the same thing on my application :-)

Bracing is crucial IMO, you are going about this the right way! :-)

Fred.
