over the rad charge pipes
i know there was a thread about it not to long ago and i thought it was a good idea. the intercooler is a starion front mount, 2 inch pipes. i need to get some mandrel bends and better couplers, i (tried) to run 15psi, and it wasnt going to happen with the current pipes :nono:

Looks like an interesting functional/low-buck DIY, coupla thoughts:
Air filter sucking hot air from hotside piping proximity=bad--reroute air intake? Airflow over rad looks compromised--i.e., loss of flow due to upper gap. I've seen the over-rad mounting keep the rad in the stock position whilst going through the stock upper frame holes, esp. with smallish (2") I/C piping...ideas? BTW, what happened when you tried to run 15psi? What kit/manifold is that? Speaking of DIY and low-buck, dig the heatshield:) |

Looks good, I woud just make a pipe to put the filter by the clutch resivoir and make an air diversion plate for the gap in front of the radiator.

Timming Belt Cover
Why do you cut the cover off the timming belt? Bigger cam sprockets? Does this compromise the integrity of the belt and holding timming.

How did you go about moving the radiator? I really like the over the rad idea.
And for intake if you plan on making your own you could try cutting a hole in the firewall and routing the air from the cowl, thats what I have now NA, but then again it is easy to do with the stock airbox as it just needs some shopvac hose. |
^ u just find a way to make a longer radiator mount and it should be fine...
on my input though, try n make a cover for that gap so u'll be forcing air through the radiator instead of having it go around |
How does moving the radiator further into the bay compromise cooling efficiency? By the looks of it i would imagine air going up and over the radiator as apposed to forced through.

I think you answered your own question, unless you meant improved cooling specifically for the intercooler. Flow through the intercooler might increase since the radiator provides less restriction. But flow through the radiator would decrease if the air is allowed to flow around it instead of through it.
