There cannot be any difference in accuracy (assuming both are functioning properly) because there is nothing in the downpipe to affect the lambda reading. Also, the sensor is heated, so underheating is not an issue. Overheating is an issue though and should be avoided like AEM and Innovative recommend.

To each their own in this case. I'll let you guys know if I come across any problems.However 36" inches away is rediculous...
