Default Piecing together a system- total noob

well I havent boughten the car yet but im looking at some 1.8s over the weekend. Sold my 485awhp s4 a few days ago and now looking for a miata fun car.

Heres what I plan on having- borg and warner efr 6255 or gt2871
fmic, water and meth, shooting for 260-280 at the wheels

here is what im wondering- does anyone make manifolds/kits where you bring your own turbo to the game, what software is everyone using, how much money and time am I getting myself into here-

I want something that I can make moves on later and build the motor- which is why the efr should be fine as it is proven well over 375whp

any help would be awesome as I want to have boost within a month of buying it

Ecu is unprogrammable and unchippable. We use MegaSquirt. Costs roughly $500 after the unit, a sensor or two, including the wideband. Turbotim, artech, FM, and begi are a few of the off the shelve units.

1) can't go wrong with either. both are great turbos
2) good, good, and very realistic goal. will be a ton of fun at that power level
3) Absurdflow and Artech both make custom manifolds, search, and 5-10k depending
4) don't know wtf "making moves" means but a 300whp miata feels a whole lot more fun than a 480whp s4, I'm saying this from experience. at 375 its a monster. anything over that and you better have a very good life insurance policy. some on here have a sickness though, and are shooting for 600+.

all the help is there, you just have to search for it. we do not spoon feed

haha by making moves I meant pulling the motor and building it and in all honesty at that point I would probably drop an sr20 in it- I have been around megasquirt on a friends mk1 gti 16v turbo so that sounds like a good idea-now to buy a car

If u're looking for a swap than get a blown miata and a motor to drop in it.
