Default prepackaged meagsquirt vs bipes/afm/etc

I've been thinking, which really gets me in trouble...but the bipes is 225...afm was 50...prolly end up getting more random stuff like the O2 clamp...what else do I need to run on that setup, I know I'm forgetting? Would it be easier to tune/work out bugs with the ready to go kit from kingofl337? thats like 550(I think?). Either way I'll be running an AEM wideband O2.

I was just curious as to what you guys think. If it means waiting a month or so as opposed to hurt the motor/making it easier on me I'll go for it.

Side note: Megasquirt can/does data log stuff right?
And it is based on Volumetric efficiency tables? Not reall sure what that means, V.E., but I had a tuner explain it to me and was just curious.
Also, the software and everything is open source, and I know I've seen basic baseline maps for the miata right?

If I run MS...do I have to have a AFPR? or does the EM controll the injectors and the fuel pump?

I'm so dumb, I've been reading a TON about megasquirt, but engine management stuff confuses me. I'm just trying to do it right the first time.

MS can datalog when you have it hooked up to a laptop. I could send you a log file and you could view it yourself in MegaLogViewer just so you could see how bad *** it is. Also, yes, the MS creates its own ignition and injector signals, and can turn on the fuel pump. The concept of VE can be confusing but adjusting the tables is still easy. Increasing the number increases the fuel, decreasing ..... decreases. There are a bunch of premade msq files in the MS section. They are stickied at the top. Its very simple to tune from a basemap. IMO its the only way to go, especially if its straight plug and play.

Lmfao :gay: , thats funny....But I would'nt do that, Id suck up my mistake and try again, I know not to leave soderd connections with out shrink tube to cover them.....thats one big mistake the people at import tuner made when preparing the ms for the diy project they were working on.....I may not be the most handy with cars(yet) But I am pretty handy with electronics and take my time toying around...I will keep my em blue and get a ms for a 3 month project haha ,If my girl leaves me alone long enough to get an hour or so done a day It would take a month...

for someone dumb like me, would it be best to try and get it from king of leet, it seems a fair price as advertised as everything I need.

the price is very fair for a stand-alone ecu. and add up the costs of a o2-clamp, pump, bipes, fmu, WBo2....get the MS, 550s, WBo2 and you're done (with x100 better tunability). I hear tuning is a breeze as well.

It's like learning to use any other tool- once you're over that hurdle then you can take advantage of the capabilities. And now the MS has a large Miata user base, which makes it way easier to install, learn and use. You can't beat the capabilities of a standalone.

awesome...looks like this might be my next mod since I'm still N/A...also, might go ahead and pick up the WB02...

Why such a large injector? is it better to run larger but just impossible without a standalone ECU? Also, what is that out of?
