Say ur going fast around 90-95... **** it say a 100 and detonation and pinging happens... how does the car react? Will it buck or act as if its slowing down abrubtly... i just wanna kno so that if god forbid it happens i can back out... thanx.

 

a lot of things can "happen" to the car, the motor can blow for all you know. The first signs of detonation (if you don't have a knock sensor) are the marbles in your motor sounds.

 

but also keep in mind that its pretty loud wen ur going that fast so is there any other way to tell... i mean i have the stock 99 knocksensor but thats it

 

also, is it audible even with the engine noise... or do u need a trained ear to hear it.

 

what have you done to the car that you think there is a risk of detonation?

 

turbo charger... and i dont think that i have it i just want to avoid it and if i cant realize when its happeneing i wouldnt be able to avoid it

 

make sure you are running proper timing and fuel and you will avoid it

 

also like I said detonation is like marbles under the valve cover. Get on a hill at 2500 rpm in a high gear and floor it ... listen for those sounds as the engine loads.

 

no that happens when you have no gas and go extremely lean.

ping is audible, thats about it. then trails of white smoke.

 

Not all ping is audible.
