Default Rear main seal

I think I put the rear main seal too far back. Let me know what you guys think.

looks right to me too. I may be remembering incorrectly, but isn't there a lip that you push the seal against to avoid going in too far?

Yes. I made the mistake of assuming all engines were that easy. The FE3 doesn't have a lip and the seal just kept going in... too far. And since the engine was going in at that moment I had to fork over $20 for one from the dealer.

Looks right to me too.

Neither does the rear main on the motor I assembled this weekend. I have always just put them in flush.

I thought the seal suppose to be flush with the surface? But then again I tap it all the way in until it won't go in anymore.
