There are a few guys running rear turbos on festivas. Most of them are just using an inline electric fuel pump designed for carburetors (8psi) on the oil return. The current 1/4 miles record holder is running that setup on a bp swap.

Never would have guessed.

Looks like some really nice clean fab work. Interested to see how it performs.

125 ait with 80 amb I'd say yes, you need a cooler

It's pretty cool, I've actually considered something like this for NaziFornia, but too lazy to go through all the trouble for mediocre power

Atleast provide us with an exhaust video... I wanna hear how this thing sounds!

aidandj 12-17-2015 01:03 PM

It's a water cooled muffler officer.

meh, unless your car looks all stancetarded and blatantly modified, I don't see him getting a hood pop or underbelly check from a cop.

He's clearly put some effort into this too, so I'm sure he has the brain power to keep the car looking stock on the outside too

This would be cool to run with E85 to eliminate the need for an intercooler. I feel like the whole idea of this kit is simplicity, which leaving the intercooler out would satisfy.

I'm curious about it's mounting. Is it hung from the exhaust hangers? I can see some rod going to an exhaust hanger on the right side of the pictures, but can't tell how it's actually mounted.

e85 doesn't eliminate the need for a cooler.
neither does w/I.

I did mount it through the exhaust hangers but used 2" turbo clamps around them to stiffen them up a bit and safety factor. I tapped a 1/2" rod on both ends and use 7/16" fine thread bolts and fender washers to cap the ends so the rod does not move. Worked out very well, same way as the FRS I did.

Does this mean he will need to eventually replace the muffler bearings?

The car looks totally stock except Mazdaspeed wheels that a friend donated. It still has a CAT since in Cal it's about a $2500 fine for removal. It has a 2.5" setup with California legal Cat so that's all good.

Roadstercycle, are you by any chance related to the roadstercycle reverser box for motorcycles?

If so, preparef or a bombardment of questions

aidandj 12-17-2015 03:39 PM

What size turbo

leboeuf 12-17-2015 04:02 PM

Cool man.
That turbo needs a muffler shaped heat shield.

Yes I am. Although don't take over thread with this. Just PM me.

aidandj 12-17-2015 04:26 PM

Something you will learn soon is that threads get out of control here very quickly, and get taken over.
