Default RX7 AFM for NA

Hi everyone,

I need some advise here. I am about to install a T25 turbo into my NA with the RX7 AFM. There are many guys here who use the RX7 AFM. May I ask if you guys did anything to the AFM before installing it on the NA? Any advise would be most helpful!!!

Thanks in advance everyone!!

you'll need to adjust the tension a bit to idle with it. Perferably on a dyno to get it at a 14.7 AFR idle. I think I was at 7 clicks, now at 4 clicks with 305cc injectors.

can you explain the click things? I have one, it was adjusted when I put it on...I'm still N/A though.

Since the position of the flapper itself sends the voltage signal to the ecu the tension on the flapper needs to be adjusted correctly to send the correct signal. The RX7 AFM is larger with more pre-load on the flapper so the voltages are off when you just slap it on a miata.

Most people who run them N/A just loosen them enough to have a good idle. (Same thing I did.) However, on the wideband you can see quite a bit of difference in idle AFR when you just adjust the tension or click. Could mean the difference between a 14.7 AFR idle and 15.4 AFR idle.
