Ok, I have an odd issue. It seems in 3rd + gear, between 4k and 6k rpm, when im floorring it I get a slight studder about every 1-2 sec. The studder only lats a half a seconded, if even. So I pulled the plugs and they seem to have a slight white residue, with a slightly worn electrode. This would indicate they are hot right? Im not running lean beacuse I am between 11. and 12.2 under boost (unless my LC-1 is wrong..).

Also there is no marble raddle sound or anyhting, it just studders, or mis-fires, nor do the plugs indicate any detionation.

Maybe I need a colder plug? They are whatever plugs the last owner put in them, stock replacements.

Any ideas?

 

i'd use a step down plugs...

use BKR7Es, don't gap them.

mine pops something like that it studders when i floor it then picks up. It pisses me off i think its my 9mm plugs? Is it because theres to much of a spark and the grade of fuel is not high enough? Im running 87 octane my cars only n/a right now so, but do you think if i ran 91 octane it would stop?

 

sounds like acceleration enrichment needs tuning... if you are running someone else's base map you have to change the accel values for your larger injectors.

 

The trick is calling advanced auto parts, or similar, and asking for part number 6097. This is what they'll use to find the plugs. If they say that cant, they can. But its easier than trying to ask them to search for bkr7e, which they'll never figure out.

if you get the -11 ones you gotta gap them lower, stock gap of 11mm or .43"

bkr7e's with NO -11 are gapped at .30-.33"

Brain- I would reccommend you putting these plugs in your DIY FAQ, wouldent hurt.

 

hmm... the -11 specifies reach (3/4"). I wasn't aware that they also have a larger factory gap.
