For what its worth I had an F1 stage 3 in my first turbo miata and it ran 225whp for over 2 years and approx 30k miles. The one in my car at the moment has dealt with 270whp / 270 lbft torque for over 15k with no complaints.

I hate to be obtuse, but it's a $3 Ching Chang clutch. What did you expect?

I also have an F1 stage 3, for the past 3 years and 30k+ miles.

I daily my car, and do not recommend the clutch for this. I learned to drive it smooth, and hardly ever get shudder. I slip it hard from a stop. Never had a problem under power.

The fm2 is fine for dd duty. Mine is actually slightly easier to use then my old ACT HDSS.

(Posting from my phone.)

A clutch is not a place to cheap. The pp on those kits are stock replacements.

Ya. I'm using Splittime's old sprung one. You can slip it if you're extremely delicate, but it's more comfortable to just grab and go most of the time. Every now and then the wheels will chirp. Or the PPF will clank and draw undesired attention while trying to slip it.

Something mechanical or habitual was the cause of this damage.

Meanwhile my clutch feels stock, my 66 year old dad can drive it, and can hold all my power...

I bought a $40 F1 stage 3 off some d00d on craigslist. Never slipped once, 10k on it, 3k of it boosted. Pain in the *** clutch though, but you learn how to drive with it (as everyone above has said).
