Default T25 too small?

What do you guys think? It seems a little small for my 200whp goal (but I'm more after quick spool up). going to try and find a used HKS mani if i decide to get this.

Anyone use this turbo?

you'll be fine with taht... 200whp isn't a hard goal with a good tune...and some kindof ecu. 200-240 maybe more whp can be acieved with the greddy system... i mean ahviously not just that, but that size turbo...td04h

I had one of these (or something VERY VERY similar) and it spooled up damn near immediately, I liked it better than the GT2560R that I traded it in on. I personally felt it was a $700 mistake. On the street it's a rockin' little turbo. It won't make "big" power, but for ~200 HP or slightly less, it's fantastic.

I bet that would be a great turbo for a miata. I am using a GT2554BB and while it is not annoyingly slow at spoolup, i certainly would not want any more lag on the street. I bet that thing would spool like a WRX with an exhaust

I got a T25 .48/.49 off eBay for $265. I'm shooting for 220rwhp with it, and hopefully more on big boost (17+psi) and water injection.

Get a DSM/Nissan T25.. if its not enough.. swap out the internals and make it a t28. That should far exceed the potential of your internals. Anything after that is built engine.

See here for examples:

I'm trying to stay as low as possible on price as to not take a big chunk from my funds, so rebuilt is a little tough to swing.

I was thinking the T25 from a nissan would be nice, but I've read about flange fitment problems and such?

The Nissan T25 fit perfect on Bellengineering manifolds and downpipes as they are standard garret flanges.

^Yeah sorry. I guess when i refer to Nissan T25 i mean the SR20 turbo which is what most of us run.
I personally don't know anyone running the 300zx turbo.

2 people on here run a 300zx turbo, the question is who would WANT to when you can have a more universal (in terms on pre fab components) turbo.

Exactly. The SR20 turbos are easy to come by and are what I consider industry standard flanged.
There was a SR20 turbo for sale in the forsale section earlier.

No affiliation and the turbo needs a rebuild but this might be a lead for you otherwise check sr20forum .com or .net

The website was an example.

That'd be easy to find a low price on a dsm t25 they're basicly given'm away for the most part , they're crap on a 4g63 ( i should know i owned a couple ) you can set a MBC for may be 18psi and your lucky if they can put out 15psi. Now has any body used a 16g (usually the first upgrade on a dsm) either small or big?

The DSM turbo and the SR20DET turbo are different turbos completely flange wise...

You can find a SR20DET on some of those forums that need a rebuild for CHEAP if your lucky.

that's precisely why I'm thinking about selling my T3 manifold and turbo and going to a T25... more streetable and the aftermarket downpipes are easier to get. The "internal gate" T3s limit you to a shitty stock O2 housing from some random vehicle or an expensive and hard to fit v-band unit from WOT.

no problems with my internal gate and fitting DPs on two different manifolds....DP should bolt right up to it...

I make 1psi at 1800RPM and 12psi at 3800RPM, with a 2.25" catback.....
