Default t25 turbo install!

Hi, I'v been on here for awhile lerking in the background trying to get my info together.

I was jumping from one idea to the next for the past few months on what to do with the miata.
I have settled on what I want and am getting all the bits together at the moment.

So far I'v got my manifold, T25 turbo, 550cc rx7 injectors, walbro 255lph, and megasquirt pnp is getting ordered this week hopefully.

So my main qustion is, what else do you think I'l need to get the car going, I'm not talking brakes and suspension!
I know i need a wideband, but what else will I need, and is what I'v collected so far suitable!

Help appreciated!

Heres some snaps of the car in question.

You need to read the FAQ, and a couple of build threads then report back.

Thanks for your advice!

Spent the last month or so crawling through hundreds of threads, mainly to do with megesquirt, trying to get abit of info on tuning and stuff.

Anyways, here's the parts list as it stands so far.

Have most of the parts together now to get it turbo'd.
Its taken so long because I didn't want to go down the rout of buying a premade kit, with a piggy back ecu, I wanted someting that could have the potential of getting alot of power if I wanted.

So anyways here's the parts list so far that I'v gathered!

T25 Turbo
Cast Manifold
Braided oil feed, return, and all the neccessary fittings
550cc Rx7 Injectors
Inovative Motorsports Lc-1 wideband sensor, with controller + Gauge
Megasquirt pnp, Installed and running sweet
Boost controller + Gauge
Intercooler + piping

The car is running well with the ecu, and no issue's as of yet.

Hope to fit the injectors this week and hopfully get the car running right again, not quite sure what will need to be done! I'l prob try get the lc-1 in at the same time, should aid me somewhat!

Then once there in and the car is running sweet, I hope to start the build.

One question I do have, is do you think I need to get a pump aswell or will the standard one hold up, I only plan on running low enough boost, probably in or around 0.6bar/ 9psi

Any help info would be much appreciated.

Unless your fuel pump is going bad it will be fine, those 550s will give ya about 240 ish hp with stock pump.

Don't really like the wheels. The front lip looks terrible. You need to get it off the ground, unless you like riding your bump stops half the time. Your list looks pretty good, just add suspension and proper fitting wheels/tires. Oh, and a 3 inch. However, I appreciate the AE86 cars. My first car was a GTS coupe. It was 3 different colors and I bought it for nothing. It was before the got big. I had some BMW mesh wheels on it and the car was eventually painted back red. It is a truly engaging car to drive. It is ashame everyone ruins the handling of them by slamming them. I wouldn't have sold it. But it was a 1000 dollar profit that allowed for the miata. In hindsight, an LS1 in a AE86 would be ****.

Great, thats what I wanted to hear!

I had a new 255 there, but ended up selling it because I was short on cash!

Em thanks?!

Whats wrong with the wheels, banded vw g60 steels. 8 and 8.5's.
Front lip doesn't look great, but it stands up to alot of abuse, so a crapy hard plastic one or fiberglass one wouldn't do.
Suspension is fine, I'v done around 20k km's like that with no bother! It is a bit low yes, but its just the way I like em!

As for the aee86, a few of my mates are die-hards! A few tasty ones around here!

I'll add a re-route to your list. Improving the cooling system never hurt anyone. Raise the car a bit, functionality never hurt anyone neither.

You should go visit clubroadster.net. I think that site is more up your alley.

I'm actually doing the same exact build, only I have RC 370cc injectors.

When you do eventually go turbo keep us updated with pics and progress, I'll be watching closely

But uh, may want to keep the talk about your rims and suspension to a minimum here...

Good answer.
I think a thank you is in order?!!

Yes, I am into drifting and lowering cars too much and all that ****, but I'm not here to talk about that, because we have plenty of those sites at home, in which I am active members, however we don't have miata turbo specific sites at home, so thats why I'm here.
Hopefully I'll learn a bit, and get some help, if needed when I actually get around to glueing the turbo onto the side of my engine!
I'd imagine the help will be needed with the tuning side of things rather that the actual mechanical work though! Tuning scares me!

Tuning? Megasquirt + TunerStudio = win

Just set your target and drive.
