Tan top max HP

I PROMISE i searched
I got a lot of different answers
The anserws I was reading was 7.5psi on the greddy 15g?
but im boosting 10psi, 12 to 1 rise rate disc, highpressure fuel pump and a front mount
I initially started the search to see if i can bump it up to 12psi on my t25 turbo (figured its so tiny)

itd be cool if i can get some personal opinions
And please, i know, Megasquirt, but its not in my budget yet :(

EDIT
Either max hp or psi on that turbo in particular

How about you calculate it yourself with this?

Boomboombambam 05-24-2012 02:38 AM

What should I put for fuel consumption

Boomboombambam 05-24-2012 02:40 AM

with .50 fuel consumption, it says im good for about 300bhp, is that possible? how come people were saying they were 100% duty cycle at only 7.5psi on the 15g when im running 10psi on my t25..

blaen99 05-24-2012 02:58 AM

You may actually want to read the information that is prominently placed nearly at the top of the page for answers about BSFC.

Secondly, the 15g is different from the t25G and it's fuel consumption.

Boomboombambam 05-24-2012 03:18 AM

I dont see anything about fuel consumption, and yeah... im aware they are different turbos, i was just stating the names because i know you guys would flame on me and what my setup/turbo is, etc.

From the first section of text posted from the website...

Selecting the Proper Injector Size

In order to select the correct size injector for your application, you might wish to use one of the following formulas.

In most cases a naturally aspirated engine will have a B.S.F.C of .50. This means that the engine will use .50 lbs. of fuel per hour for each horsepower it produces. Turbocharged engines will want to be at .60 lbs. per hour or higher.

Using these numbers as a guideline, you can select the approximate injector size in the following formula for a four cylinder, naturally aspirated engine at 200 bhp.

Most injectors will max out at 80% duty cycle and this is the accepted industry standard.

B.S.F.C is brake specific fuel consumption - How much fuel you are using per horsepower per hour
All your questions are answered from it. I cannot believe you have searched at this point, especially since that page answered all your questions in the first few sentences posted on it.

Okay, so the 300bhp is correct, but does that seem right?

blaen99 05-24-2012 03:36 AM

You should PM Hustler and ask his advice on this thread.

No it's not correct.

300bhp requires 640cc injectors (BSFC of .65 and a max DC of 80%).

to get your current injectors to flow 640cc's worth of fuel you need a fuel pressure around 340psi - stock is 43.5psi, NOT going to happen...

I worked all this out from the RCEng site.

Search more, and actually read what you've searched!

Basically no matter what you do you wont go over 180 or so.
So start saving up for MS and injectors, and leave current setup alone before you melt a piston

Boomboombambam 05-24-2012 11:37 AM

Dam, i was hoping for some head room, im currently trying to find injectors as we speak, ill try to message him

18psi 05-24-2012 11:40 AM

With stock injectors on boosted car you are already using the "headroom".

305's will get you into the 200-220 range max.

Anything more you need proper management and proper injectors, unless you want to be stupid and run a hackjob setup with extra injectors and whatnot

Boomboombambam 05-24-2012 11:49 AM

are you kidding me hahahahahaha i can run what, 6? 8? injectors hahahahaha id want a set up of 8 tan tops lmao you just blew my mind man

18psi 05-24-2012 11:56 AM

You've never seen the FFS kits have you?
