Tb03???
I stumbled across a garett tb03 for an insanely cheap price and freshly rebuilt by a reputible company. Now I don't currently own a Miata but plan to in the near future and FI is definately on the table. Is this turbo worth keeping for a future FI system or should I go trolling for a t25.
BTW I'm a welder and plan to build my own manifold so the flange being funky is a non-issue

If you are refering to the TB0335 (Chrysler T1/2 Lancer) that's what I'm planning to use (1.8). Although I'm thinking of changing turbine housings to allow me to upgrade later without changing the manifold.
Should be pretty good for a low power (under 250bhp) system, but I may go higher eventually.

yes the turbo is from a t1/2 chrysler but the wastegate housing is missing. I was thinking about drilling the oddball hole to t-3 specs....any thoughts?
I started autocrossing this year with a Saturn Wagon but it just lacks the instant response of a lighter vehicle and I have driven a few Miatas...I love the open air ride and the handling can't easilly be beat.
After trying out a 2001 nb I have settled on what I want in a miata. I want an NA engine doesn't really matter 1.6 rev high but 1.8 has a bit more torque. Turbo charged at just 6psi intercooled for maximum reliability. Suspension wise nothing special is planned. Kyb gr2's and thats about it but the chassis will get some attention with a FM butterfly brace, hard dog double diagonal bar, strut bars and lower braces to stiffen the tub us as much as possible. Finally some good sticky meats on stock rims for the stealth effect

TBH I have no idea what trim it is all I know about it is the A/R and that it's a tb0335 off of a chrysler turbo . A/r's are hot side .48 cold side .42 according to the numbers this should work well on either engine but best on the 1.8
It's not like I wouldn't know about a T3 on a miata.
It's most likely a 45 or 50 trim. It will spool quick but the 45 will start to run out of steam in higher rpms. 50 trim is the smallest I'd go.

That's what I gathered from reading the map on this compressor. Drilling it for a standard t3 flange or changing housings is the way to do it. otherwise once you get to higher power levels that turbo isn't going to move enough air. should be fine to 225 or so whp.
seriously Jonzing for the miata. The wagon (Oh did I mention that the saturn is a wagon too) handles quite good but its heavy 3100# dry and badlyunder powered even with the mods I've done.
My name was given to me by my parents. I did not pick it. If you don't like me having this name perhaps you should take it up with my parents not me... Plus I have had it longer
OH and BTW... I love my name it fits me I truly love Horses

this turbo doesn't have the wastegate housing or actuator I am thinking about going external w/g instead of internal. Would I be ahead to use the existing port or mount it on the manifold?
