Default For those running EWG setups and a vented hood

Ok, so after fixing all the exhaust leaks the car isn't filling up with smoke anymore, but its still smoking.

At first I assumed it was the header wrap heating up and smoking, but I don't think thats it anymore. On the ride this morning I was playing around and noticed that it smokes only when under boost. I need to pay more attention to the boost gauge to see exactly when its doing it, but its ONLY under boost.

I'm wondering if EWG setups do this normally. If the hood didnt have vents I doubt I would notice, but because I have gills right above the turbo area I'm able to see it.

Anyone else have a EWG/vented hood combo that does or does not have this happen?

How do you have the EWG dump routed? Atmosphere, plumbed back in?

Plumbed back in.

But I'm pretty sure there's a port on the top part of the housing that isn't in use. And I remember others saying they had this port open as well. So I'm wondering if maybe that could be it.

I have never noticed anything come out of mine. My header wrap smoked for a LONG time. Have you just popped the hood and reved it via tb to see if anything comes out and if so does it come out when the wastegate is cracking open (or all the way open) or all the time. I am pretty sure there is supposed to be a gasket on the top of the plunger, yours may be bad/gone.

There shouldn't be any smoke coming from it. Even if that top port is opened as it is only for vacuum assist to help with opening and closing the wastegate quickly... You might have some other problem going on. Does it continuously smoke or only when you first start driving it?
