Ive seen that little breakdown, and have read more arguments and discussion on it online than I care to remember, it's funny because the nissan community is even more scattered than us, and have all sorts of bogus and legit info flying around and it's even harder to tell the bs apart from the truth.

.....and then I've taken a few apart and they did not match up with that "list", so who knows.

either way that's a solid turbo

I'm referring to the picture schyuler posted up, I found that page earlier, but if that's the list your talking about fair enough, but im betting it's journal from the way it spins, but I'll find out on the weekend hopefully if I can pull it apart successfully, might take those brackets around the turbo off to make it look tidier and get a heatshield from eBay to put on, I also found a couple of hair line cracks around the waste gate flapper valve opening, now I don't know what everyone on turbo miata forums think but majority of my Google searches I've read that it's a common occurrence on second hand? And some turbos still run ok with bigger cracks, mines only a hair line but I'm going to give it a go regardless if all else fails I'll get a new exhaust housing.

Sorry I haven't got back but I finally took apart the turbo with the right tools I think it helps, here are some pics i broke the 270 thrust bearing while trying to remove the seal plate, had to bash it from the turbine side as it just wasn't coming off, I got a 360 thrust plate it replace it with here are some pics.

Next thing is to put every new part on from the kit, take my exhaust housing to a turbo shop fix some cracks around the waste gate flapper, and ceramic coat it black

Hey guys rebuilding is in progress I've put the bearings back in but I'm having a little trouble and I'm stuck, the kit came with new 360 degree bearings and the design is a little different so I'm not sure how it all goes together, here is a picture and advice would be appreciated as I've scoured the Internet and haven't been able to find anything

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but I'm preparing for the turbo install.. I've got to find out if this turbo needs a restrictor or not and if so what kind? Cheers for any response to this.
