This is a damn good idea. There is a huge market for cheaper 1.8 turbo kits as all of the begi and fm stuff (although good) is very expensive. If you could compete with the price of say a mp45 supercharger or a greddy kit then you would probably have trouble making these fast enough!

could be just valvetrain noise like what you hear when its time to change the oil. It makes a ticking which has been a good indicator for an oil change imo in the past, but it usually makes more noise at idle and cruise? ...

If it only happens in boost, it's detonation. Without timing control at 8psi, it doesn't surprise me at all.

How do you accidentally cut a hole in a hood? Kit turned out good. How do you like it?

Edit: Just looked at the pics again, realized it was probably done while notching the hood for the IC pipe.

right on my friend. and it STILL doesnt properly close! i think i need to switch to 2" pipe there because right now i have 2.5"

ps: i just covered it with boss frog sticker and it looks/works allright for now

just need to finish my megasquirt wiring and hook up water injection finally! and its done... by any chance, anyone in LA wants to give me a hand with MS wiring?

I see, If I was you I would have used 2" piping with the 2-2.5" coupler at the IC. Would have worked alot better I bet.
Just make that hood into one super kickass vented one. You'll want it for track duty and whatnot anyway.

it actually works quiet nice (grill). no airflow restriction because it has really large openings and very small mesh gauge. if i remove it, it exposes my intercooler to every cop around which is definitely not a good thing. with grill, it actually doesnt look that bad. AND, if i pop my headlights, it looks like my car is smiling

later on i am planning to start making those "bumper teeth" so once i do, i will make sure to fabricate one which will not restrict airflow and will hide my intercooler

as of cut on my hood - sticker works for now. if i decide to make it "vented" - it will be real pain in the butt because cut is about 1" from beginning of hood right next to (and a little bit over) driver-side stripe.

magna - thanks
