currently running the FM kit with the GT2560R
the motor is fully build with 8:5 pistons,rods, bigger valves...etc
and i have wet kit nitrous,
whats your suggestion,
im aiming for around the 500hp, without the nitrous.
mostly drag racing at the 1/4 mile.

Are you running 75 or 100? which is it? How much are you making on the nitrious, you are asking for advice but not providing any information. **** it, run a 300 shot, that should get you there...

 

Buy my direct port nitrous and spray the hell out of it. 2 stage FTW.

What are you using for engine management? And 500 is a big number to hit without a stroker setup. Are you running a 1.6 or 1.8?

 

Why not just dump a Sr20 engine in it? You wont be the first and you'll get to 500 faster with more torque off the line.

 

or put a 5.0 or ls1. easiest way to hit high numbers in a miata

 

or even better, put the GM 3800 from the Regal GS in it, yes instead of where the trunk should be.

or a northstar.

 

My vote is for a V-12 but thats just me

Run a compressor that meets the flow requirement for 600-700 crank horsepower. Use a larger exhaust area ratio turbine housing with a large wheel and use your nitrous to spool. 110 VC fuel or better should get you there. Intake manifold is probably a major issue at those intended powerlevels. Need shorter runners with agressive taper.

 

replace the 2560 with a 3076 and use the nitrous now to spool the turbo.


300 with nitrous and a 2560 is not impressive.

 

Have you considered the drivetrain/suspension necessary to handle a reasonable launch. I assume if you are going to drag race, you will be going to an automatic? Correct?

I'm interested to know what's in the works.

It's relatively easy to make the hp, not as much so to get it to the ground and not break anything.

I'd consider a GT35R or SC61 for a 500whp goal.

I've been there...no nitrous.

 

At those powerlevels its important to increase the peak R.P.M. point as much as possible. Its torque that causes traction and driveline issues. Gotta split up those impulses as much as you can to keep everything alive. This as the inverse effect on engine life of course, but its a drag car right?

 

let me try answer couple of the question here:
im making 300 now without the nitrous, with the nitrous im at 450 as it 150 shot.
the suspension is all done, rear end wasnt changed, its the original torsen with a 6 speed trany, it holds for now .
the car is a 2000ls with the 1.8, running link as a pigy with the 4 extra injectors, looking for a good stand alone now.
for launch im using h@m slicks 8.5 with 13 inch super light drag rims.
oh and its daily driver too
