two part BOV question + some extra credit
first off, where should i locate the BOV in relation to the TB (as close as possible?) and how do I know how to set the BOV(in terms of the spring tension in the BOV)?
the extra credit portion is a little more theortical: would there be any benefit to putting a second intake filter just before the BOV and TB with a flap that closes under boost and opens when the intake is below atmospheric? the flap would hang down due to gravity or maybe spring tension when there is no boost and close under the force of boost. my idea was that this would allow better transition between no boost and when the boost comes in. or is there always sufficient boost to where this would be useless. might this delay spool?

Most will say anywhere in between the turbo and the Throttle body is fine. Some like it closer to turbo... but I feel this is tougher on the seals (heat). Alot like it somewhat near the throttle body, I prefer this, about 12-18inches away. Some even place it on their Intercooler, hidden or just convinient).
Just make sure if you are still using an AFM... you recirculate it.

its ideal to put it close the TB, the idea is that the boosted air will exit to BOV as soon as possible when the butterfly closes.
set it as loose as possible. drive for a while, and tighten it little by little. when you start to hear it flutter, loosen it back off and leave it alone.
more effort than its worth, if any. if you have an AFM/MAF you'd screw up the metering.
