two cooling ?s (fan and vented hood)
My car has good ducting up front to make air go where it should, and I don't have ac or ps **** in the way... also stock fsb, no coolant reroute. The car is mainly street driven with several track days a year (not Hustler track days, my mother loved me) and an autox or two.
Ok, I have a 55mm koyo waiting to be installed, and I'm thinking there's no way my a/c fan will fit with the coldside piping. So, assuming that, what fan option would you go with? Options I've thought of are: single driver side stock fan, stock driver with slim passenger (which one?), or a better single fan. I have not seen much discussion about a single fan, and the stockers are shrouded
I guess what I'd like to know is if there are any fans significantly better than the stock one, or if it's more worth my time/money to just get a cheap slim fan for the passenger side. (which ones bolt up/work best?)
Second question involves a spare hood I have. I was planning on cutting a squared off "U" shape (looking from the front) into it and bending the front of that down, then welding sides to make an extractor hood. Then I got to thinking extractor hoods and vents tend to have a raised lip along the leading edge- is this necessary? Or is there enough negative pressure without it? Hopefully you can understand my description
I'll try to find that air pressure picture of the NB, but what's general consensus on vent location? Leading edge about even with rear of radiator?
