Default Used CXRacing Turbo needs wastegate parts

I am just beginning to collect parts to put a turbo on my '91 NA6 Miata. Recently I found a used CXRacing Turbo nearby and grabbed it. The turbo is in great shape; in fact it doesn't look like it has been run much, if at all. It is a less expensive model with provisions for an internal wastegate. However, a previous owner has removed the vacuum control, linkage, and rear housing from the turbo and replaced it with a flat flange that has no wastegate outlet. Since there is no outlet pipe welded onto the flange yet I assume it was never used this way. My only guess is they were planning on running an external wastegate.

I contacted CXRacing to see about buying the missing wastegate linkages and housing (the turbo model is still on their website) but they responded that they do not sell those parts. So what is the market like for used CXRacing turbo parts? Can I find this stuff out there someplace? Or do I just commit to an external wastegate? Or another turbo?

Sorry for all of the questions. I am just getting into the turbo world and have a lot to learn.

CXRacing makes a number of different turbo's. Their t3 versions are larger then you really want to run on a 1.6 car.

CXRacing doesn't sell parts (as you've found out). You buy the whole turbo, or nothing.

That being said, I have some compressor housings with intact internal wastegates (one from a CXRacing 2871 clone, and another from a generic EBay T28 clone) that are sitting aroun, collecting dust. You're welcome to both of them (neither is guaranteed to fit your CHRA and turbine wheel) for the cost of postage, they're just taking up space in my garage. I even think that I've ported one of them, so that's a "bonus".

DM me if interested.
