I was a bad build thread maker and took very few pics during the build...I just don't think about it while I'm working. The midpipe with the resonators actually fits really well, though, and doesn't contact anywhere; I was very impressed.

My understanding, based on conversations with the magnaflow sales engineer and my own understanding of sound physics, is that a resonator works by dissipating sound energy into the packing material. Given that, more packing (larger diameter) = more energy dissipated. These resonators are 4.75" tall and 6.5" wide...so there's a lot of packing there. Based on my extensive research, that's about the only difference between these and any other resonator; the novelty lies in the oval shape, which allows you to get more packing without making it impossible to package in a small car with low ground clearance.
