A case could also be made for circulation through the entire head,Not having a dead end at the front.I think that it would offer more consistent head/combustion chamber area temps.More even temps will afford the ability to run more Ignition advance, resulting in more power. This is not my theory,it was proven by Smokey Yunick, years ago.

You never need to take it off.

Let's just say that my motor blows because of the huge holset turbo that i'm seeing if I can spool and I have to get a new engine block. I can't just take the freeze plug out and put it on the new block but that will not be a problem with the block off plate.

You're talking about investing all this money in a larger turbo setup and you're worried about freeze plug costs?

I was joking of course! The plug is like $.97 at auto zone. I just want the block off plate so I can tap it to run the coolant lines from it. And I don't want that huge water neck sticking out of the head just so I can use the two little coolant taps on it.

If i can't find one I will try making one because it is not a permanent solution like the freeze plug.
Thanks for the info.
Freeze plugs are just as easy to knock out as they are to knock in, plus they're really cheap.

Here are some pictures of the cool block off plate that I got from Reverend Greg.
I have to get some new bolts for it tho.
