Advice on new setup for 1.8 swap
I cooked my motor last night after a coolant line burst. I have a low mileage 1.8 to put in, so I am looking for a new turbo setup. I want something that is not laggy and I am not looking to be the guy with the most power, I just like a car that is fun to drive. What is everyone's opinion on what manifold/downpipe/turbo I should go with. The cheaper the better, but I'm not into fabricating much, so it needs to be something I can purchase.

I agree with cheaper is better, but I also only like doing stuff once.
My 1.8 setup is going to be the BEGi S5 T3 mani w/ a tial 38mm external wg. If you want insta-spool® just add a T3-S60.

So, I think I am pretty set on the BEGi S5 setup with a divorced wastegate, but still not sure on the turbo. The T3 Super 60 looks nice, but I am concerned about how much power I can make with it. My Greddy setup was in the 225 whp range at 12 psi and I had full boost around 3400 rpm. What would be capable with the T3 Super 60? I don't want to drop a 1.8 and see only minimal gains or even worse, a loss in performance. I would like to see at least 275 whp (300 whp would be better) and be in the 12's on a quarter with the new setup with minimal lag. Is there another turbo that would suit me better?

Not knocking the BEGi stuff as I have their mani/DP, but you might want to also take a look at the ETD Racing shorty tubular manifold if you have someone around that can make you a DP.
Also from the compressor maps, the T3 super 60 fits somewhere between the GT2560 (FM's turbo of choice) and GT2860 (aka disco potato) so should be right in your power ballpark.

I've been thrilled with my BEGI manifold/DP and a GT2554R. Smaller than a T3S60, so it will spool faster and peak earlier. For someone who is looking for quick spool and fun around town/on an autocross course, the 2554 is the ticket.
EWG is, IMO, unnecessary unless you intend to run a decent-sized turbo like a Potato or a 2871 or larger.
