That torque drop looks insane until you realize at 7000rpm you're only 20ft/lbs less than my max.
yeah the scaling on the plot is super confusing since he didn’t use the same for both.
this thing is an EFR7163 and a proper fuel pump/regulator away from a lot more power.
this is on a return less stock solstice fpr setup btw.

Yeah, that torque curve should be flat through at least 5k, with the power going way up. I'm surprised I got as much as I did out of a DW200. Still, the punch when you floor it at 3k is mind blowing.
Nigel can take new/cooler vids. But my recollection of it goes like this: violent. raw. brutal. butt puckering. makes you laugh hysterically and sweat at the same time. need a cigarette after driving it and I don't even smoke.
I've tuned/driven many miata's. Quite a few of them well over 300 and at least a dozen over 400. This is a little different: at 2k this thing shoves you back like no BP could ever even dream of. The dyno sheet doesn't really tell the whole story. It PULLS and then it PULLS HARDER. Only big displacement and dual vvt can do this trick. Even on the dyno plot, take a look at the very beginning at 2k. It's at 220wtq at 2k basically. and then just shoots up
Coming out of a corner going uphill, you expect to have to roll on a lot of throttle at lower revs to get it back into the power. With this car, it feels like turning the corner was stretching some massive elastic, and dipping into the throttle releases it. It's hard to describe the feeling. The noise is something else too. The little turbo has an aftermarket billet wheel, and it just screams.
This basically exactly describes the only thing I loved about my cobalt ss/tc... the engine/turbo combo.. torque for days (although it does fall off up top a bit as mentioned)
