He's making more than you at 4500 rpm, too, lol.

I don't know of anyone who has made that much on the 1.6 previously.

Having driven a big turbo car in the past, there is nothing, and I mean nothing, like the kick in the back when the boost kicks in. It is a completely different phenomenon than a small turbo that comes on early and gradually builds and then chokes out. It hits hard and it is thrilling to drive. Uncontrollable, but thrilling as hell and will leave you grinning like a goofball for an hour. Normal, normal, normal, OMG MY HAIR IS ON FIRE AND EVERyTHING IS A BLUR!!!

Congrats on the grin machine.

Peak torque at 5900rpm? Yep, that's a 1.6

That must feel like a nitrous hit, dyno is damn near vertical. Impressive numbers, must be a riot to drive...

very amusing, but also terrible on any sort of normal commuting venture, but this is a drift car, so it all works out

It would be terrible for a track day car, too, but probably a thrill ride you won't forget!

that extra $100 investment to buy a 1.8L a few years ago would have made this goal a lot easier...

The coolest thing about this sorta powerband is giving people rides in the car and watching their eyes widen as the "wave hits"

It's like some sort of Monkey Paw/Highlander mashup. Every time he hits 4000 rpm, another Miata somewhere in the world dies. This one then absorbs its power.

Is the lightning when this happens bothersome?

What boost are you running? I didn't see a graph, sorry if I missed it. Congrats on hitting 400hp, that's nuts, especially on a 1.6L.

I didn't take a picture of that graph but I will. I ran 28psi and will probably drive around on 25psi
