Finally ran some decent times today.

No EMS, running on Azenis, and 10psi with a T3/T4E

60' - 2.078
1/8mi - 8.627@83.62mph
1/4mi - 13.279@106.82mph

There arent any other local turbo miatas, so I really have no one to compare times with. Does this seem like a decent time for 10psi?

cjernigan 09-03-2007 11:08 PM

I think any miata running low 13s is impressive.

ApexOnYou 09-03-2007 11:13 PM

Hopefully I can make some improvement next time, I have a set of shaved Toyo RA1s that i've been wanting to try at the track. Have any of you ever run a 2 step or something for launch control?

akaryrye 09-04-2007 12:22 AM

dude thats not bad at all, i ran a 14 at 12-13psi and the same tires. What is your suspension mods, rear camber, and launch rpm like? I am asking because while I ran a 14, my trap speed was 102mph and looking at your time that should put me at a 13.5 or so with better driving.

btw, i think i should mention that I had reaction times of about a second because it was my first time and due to a friends faulty explanation of how bracket racing works I focused on my launch instead of taking off immediately. I was under the impression that the winner was the person who had an ET closest to their dial in without busting and ended up loosing by .2 seconds to a bmw who was quite a bit slower than me just because I left late. Found out later its the person crossing the line first who wins. Dont think that it played into my ET though because i think the timer begins when my front wheels lift off of the weights.

not bad, I think you are probably giving up power somewhere though. a standalone is in order.

jwarriner 09-04-2007 01:32 AM

Picking up 23mph between the 1/8 and 1/4, not bad. The traps are there for 12s if you can get your 60' time down to 1.7-1.8.

What is the trim of your turbo and what are you doing for fuel?

magnamx-5 09-04-2007 11:24 AM

very respectable indeed.

SloS13 09-04-2007 12:01 PM

nice nice

Im running JIC Magic FLT-A2s, 500ft.lb/400ft.lb, front damper at half, forgot what the rear was at but it felt good so I left it. Im running 2.5* of rear camber. I tried launching at 3k, but the track was so sticky (120* track temp), it bogged really bad and yielded a 14 flat, so I upped it to 4k or 4200 and started hitting the 13s.

Im pulling max timing on my bipes (timing set to 18* before retard IIRC), havent really messed with it. Im playing it safe on timing untill I get EMS. Im selling both of my RX7s and the sound system out of one of them to fund MSPnP, so HOPEFULLY I will be able to order that soon..

T3/T4E, 50t .48 .60

I have a DIY dual feed (leaking BAD, a FM is on its way.. For once I caved and bought something non DIY :o ), Walbro 190HP, and a BEGi FMU. Stock injectors :/

Mach929 09-04-2007 05:19 PM

wow stock injectors...how much fuel pressure?

magnamx-5 09-04-2007 05:51 PM

walboro 190 so i would say 95-105 or so.

airbrush1 09-04-2007 06:47 PM

nice times! wish I could get my 60ft down around 2.0.....

boostinsteve 09-04-2007 09:31 PM

Very nice man, can't wait to see what she will do with the proper tuning.

Im running 65 or 70psi fuel @ 0psi right now, any more and the fitting on the diy rail starts leaking - the tap was slightly crooked so it ended up not sealing properly.. I guess JB weld doesnt fix everything after all lol. Once the new rail arrives I can finally up the pressure.

Whats your average 60ft? The track was insanely sticky that day, I usually average like a 2.16-2.20. I wish I ran a cam in the car so I could see what the heck I did on that run.

Thanks man, im really anxious to get MS.. Someone buy my RX7 to fund it! haha

airbrush1 09-05-2007 08:49 PM

my 60ft's range from 3.4 to 2.7..... the car just bogs, or roasts the tires....

ApexOnYou 09-06-2007 12:42 AM

What tires are you running?

airbrush1 09-06-2007 09:59 PM

cheap 205's, on 17" wheels. My trap times are all between 107 and 108

ApexOnYou 09-06-2007 11:22 PM

Oh, gotcha. Do you put alittle heat in them before the run?

airbrush1 09-09-2007 08:22 PM

nah, open diff doesn't help with that

SOL General 09-09-2007 08:58 PM

Apex. I tried to PM you about your rx7's and some more information and pictures but your pm inbox is full
