Yeah that is the thing though, my 60 foot times suck because I am nervous about leaving my trans and/or diff at the starting line.

You both can setup a 2 step device. For ZX-Tex, it'll make boost off the line. For you, it'll let you leave flat on the floor. Drag racing takes just as much skill to do right then most other sports. Time, patients, practice, finesse, and a wad of cash your just looking to burn.
|
Can you explain the two step device?
|
It is a 2nd revlimiter that you can hold the engine at while at the tree. You can then put your foot flat on the mat while it holds whatever rpm you set it for. It also makes powershifting a bit easier on the car since when you clutch it, it goes to the lower rpm the 2 step devise is set at.

zx tex has launch control on his car already.
and flat foot shifting. Whether he will use them at the track is a different question. |
Yes I do, or at least flat shift which is working great. If the clutch is in, and the throttle is at WOT, then it rev limits at 4500 (settable). For upshifts, just keep the throttle at WOT, push in the clutch, and shift. The BOV does not even open up. It takes getting used to not lifting the throttle for upshifts.
I have not played with launch control yet but maybe I will. The Adaptronic has it. |
Is it s hard or soft hit? The hard hits make sweet flame throwers :giggle:
|
Either one. You can cut spark, fuel, or both. AFAIK with a cat you have to cut both since just cutting spark can cook your cat. No tail pipe flames, bummer.
|
Ive tried both, and the car reacts exactly the same way for either one. I thought spark cut would make flames and/or sound like antilag (thing big turbo supra) but nah. Just a slow bounce off the preset limit.
gets the job done though I was able to get 3-5psi off the line |
Flat shift AND launch control?! I wanna drive it now and I'll even buy the beer.
People, ZX-Tex can drive. He'll be able to launch it and get down the track just fine. He used to race bikes so anything else is moving in slow motion for him! |
When are you'll planning on going to the track?

Launch control now working. Yesterday I turned it over to the tamed racing driver who did a quick 1/4 mile run on the abandoned airstrip. On street tires, and according to Trackaroo Dynomaster, with a lame launch (3.15 sec 60 foot), the Stig still managed a 14.18@101.8. So a better launch, some stickier tires, and some drag strip pavement should get it into the low 13s.

my car could do a 14.1....at like 5psi.

Will be waiting for a track time at River City raceway. I have set of drag radials and slicks be more than happy to share. 12.9@107 was the last recorded time in the 1.6 turbo Miata. |

Video of the car on the dyno. This shows how the load dyno holds the RPM as the operator goes to WOT. You can hear the turbo spool but the RPM stays constant before he releases it for the ramp run.
