Default TSE EFR6258 @ 7psi

212whp 195wtq. 153kpa. 7.5psi medium can wastegate pressure on Shell 93. 1000 miles on the motor, but my tuner wanted to be conservative on a fresh block. It feels like a pretty solid track map, probably don't need too much more power. I plan on racking up another couple thousand miles and then get back on the rollers with a Trackspeed 4 port EBC and a Turbosmart dual port iwg, we'll try to max out pump gas for a street map. I will eventually change out the fuel setup and start an e85 map.

Motor:
  • Trackspeed "Stage 2" shortblock
    • 83.5mm Supertech 8.6:1 piston w/ thermal coating
      • Manley H-beam rods
        • ACL Race bearings
          • ARP head/main studs
            • Boundary Stage 2 oil pump
  • OEM untouched BP6D head
  • OEM valves
  • OEM solid lifters
  • Supertech heavy double valve springs
  • OEM BP6D cams
  • OEM EUDM Squaretop manifold
Turbo:
  • Trackspeed Turbo Kit w/ BW EFR6258 0.64a/r
  • Precision 350hp intercooler
  • Custom 2.5" coldside 2.25" hotside intercooler piping
  • ARTech 3" exhaust
EMS/Fuel/Ignition:
  • MSLabs MS3 Basic w/ CAN Wideband
  • Innovate MTX-L
  • FlowForce 640cc EV14 injectors
  • DeatschWerks DW200 fuel pump
  • Radium fuel rail

You sure it's a medium boost can? Mine yields 10 psi minimum pressure with 3mm preload.

that sounds like the high boost canister on an efr.

6258’s ship with the medium boost wastegate. 0 preload on the wastegate. Holds boost pretty consistently sometimes it will drop off on the top end, I think the wastegate might be getting blown open. That will be irrelevant with the 4 port EBC and Turbosmart IWG.

Great numbers for 7.5psi. Car looks and sounds great.

Man, that torque curve looks awesome. I bet the car is a blast to drive.

I hope I can make that low of boost on wastegate once I get everything put together. I need to just get off my but and start wrenching.

Sweet curve, exactly what a healthy NB motor should make at ~8psi. Not great practice to use super-low preload to reduce boost, though. It will make the car way less responsive compared to a proper low-boost actuator and a little more preload. I would definitely swap the actuator and tweak the preload until the peak boost is the same as what you have now - you will notice a big difference.

The car definitely pulls real good with tons of useable power, it feels almost like a big v6. On a cold night she will hit a little under 8.5psi. I’m already itching for more power. It can feel a little laggy at times which is probably due to not enough preload like Andrew was saying. I used the medium boost wastegate because I was intending on running a little bit more boost, but my tuner wanted me to keep the boost down. To be honest I wasn’t really prepared to swap on the low boost wastegate, nor was I thinking about that on the dyno day. I’m pretty stoked to see how the car feels once I get the EBC hooked up with the Turbosmart IWG. I will be reporting back in another month or so. The improved response with the correct wastegate strategy is certainly encouraging because it already gets up super quick.
