I have a 1 bar spring in the wastegate right now, it was hitting solid 18 pounds on the dyno, so that was assume 4 psi of creep? I just think a 38MM is too small to flow the power I am running.

A friend of mine said he saw your car at Strats last night (guy with a silver exoX). Said he was really impressed with your car.

The reason that I ask is because it will change how your dyno graph will look. A dyno run that starts at 14 and creeps to 18 will look a lot different than a run that hits 18 and holds steady for the full pull. Since you're fully built, you should be able to run a steady 18+ for the full pull.

Sweet, I think I remember seening that car up there also. Strats was sort of lame last night, a lot of rice.
Ridiculously awesome numbers though :) |
I just figured out why it was overboosting like hell last night, two screws in the wastegate are now missing lol, so I guess I will have to fix that today.
|
awesome numbers!!!! cant wait to see a vid :D
|
Your numbers are really, REALLY high. Which turbo are you running?
Also, which ECU are you running and why are you so sold on switching to the EFI? |
I am running a Billet PTE 5857 .63 hotside, with AEM EMS. I am going to switch to PRO EFI because of it's flex fuel sensor, something the AEM cannot due. It automatically calculates octane and fuel and adjusts your map, timing, and boost according to what it reads. For instance, if I don't have an E85 station close by and I have E85 in tank, if I put 93 in it will adjust my map, timing boost etc for the fuel. It's really advanced trick stuff. I don't recommend E85 with AEM EMS for a street car for the simple problem that if you want to go on a long trip and there isn't a E85 station around you're basically SOL
Also, I fixed my boost problem. It was two missing screws from my wastegate which basically was like I didn't have one, must have came undone on the way home from the shop. But I got on her for the first time in first/second gear and OMFG..it's insane. |
The MS2 does supports a flex fuel sensor, you know. :)
|
MS maps (tuning tables) are only 12x12 where as the PRO EFI are 128x128. Plus a bunch of other things the MS does not have, such as a built in MAP sensor with unlimited range, etc etc a MS would be a downgrade for my AEM EMS, let alone a Pro EFI ECU... It's so big though lol, http://proefi.com/images/img_5016_s7v8.jpg
|
holy shit! 128x128... no wonder the thing is the size of texas lol jk.... i would hate to tune that map.... that sounds like one crazy ecu...
|
My tuner said it takes all day to tune lol, and he tuned my car in 1.5 hours and yes it is the size of a house lol...he had on in a Whippled 03 Cobra that was in the shop it took up the whole passenger side dash, I most likely would have to put it behind the seat or something who knows?

Well according to the tuner it never creeped to 18 psi, it just held rock solid, this could have been due to temps etc, on the street on the other hand it's like I have zero boost control, I ease into the throttle 4th gear and it just swings way too high without and stopping. It's weird, and this is straight off the spring. After some research a 38MM is way too small, I need a 44MM+ It was also very, very cold outside last night, compared to the day. I will have to take the car out today and see what's up it's going to be 70+
awesome power btw. |
^^ Yeah, it's fine for now, two bolts just came loose and that's why I had no boost control last night. I am thinking of going to a dynojet so I can say I made 460-470 whp lol
|
Holy fucking cock- from the pro efi website:
"The best 1/8th mile pass of the weekend was a 4.65@170.8mph": Anyways, seriously, are you really going to put all that fresh $ into an ECU and tunage? I mean, what is the hourly rate of that supra shop? Please just say fuck that and just go for 700hp and a 1.6 record for all engines excluding F1. |

Yes, and also, there are lots of high hp cars that are using megasquirt. Fuck that expensive EMS- just use what u got.
|
Tuning rate is $200 an hr, full set-up of the ECU with flex fuel is $2995 plus the boomslang harness that would have to be made on my car, so maybe $3500 total + tuning, plus supporting mods=$6,000+ to lay down 600 whp. I could go all out, like 700+ whp but that means a new turbo etc, which is too much money. I don't think 700 whp would be very streetable in a car that is alittle over 2000 pounds lol, shit I don't even think 600 whp would be.
