Default Should I be looking at MS?

I just picked up a 95M with an FMII LINK rc550, and the rest. I am looking at moving to an MS ems, but now I am wondering if for my current goals I should just stick with the link and learn it a bit first.

My first goal is to just get the hardware I have performing to its potential I guess. I saw that FM rated this kit at 230-265whp, I am very sure my car is nowhere near that.

It was suggested to me that moving to MS would be a benefit for my goals of 250-300rwhp.

I just thought I should pop in the link section and educate myself a bunch first.

I plan to pick up a cheap laptop to DL data log pro so I can at least get a look at the link as a tuning tool and try to get my head into it before I shun it.

The tune that is on my car now, it "safe" but not the most refined, I see maybe 8psi at WOT. Its low speed is a bit rough, idle is often high and wanders a bit.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, and I will continue to dig and learn around here.

Thanks,

Chris

So best to just dive in and spend the time learning MS rather than link... Its really that much better?

Damn it! I had just typed about a half page reply to this and my computer glitched on me.

The TL;DR version was this: If 99% of the members of MiataTURBO.net all use MS, there's probably a damn good reason.

What turbo is on the car, that will be a bigger determiner to how much power you make.

Yea, I have to find the specs, its an FMII LINK, the turbo has garrett a r60 24 on it... still need to dig more.

Yea, the community usage of MS is what pushed me that way.

FYI, I LOVE THIS PLACE.

If the turbo came with the rest of the FM2, it's likely a GT2560. But there should be a serial number plate somewhere you can check to confirm.
