Default 27 inputs and 13 outputs ecu

Hey,

I'm starting my upgrade process of my current turbo miata with diypnp.
I'm going big power and I want a lot of info from the engine.

My current inputs list:
tps
cam
crank
clt
clutch
turbo speed
egt (x4?)
manifold back pressure
turbo inlet temp
turbo outlet temp
after ic temp
map
ac
knock
baro
fuel pressure
oil temp
oil pressure
launch control switch
o2
electric load
steering load
log switch
fuel map switch
spark map switch
ebc map switch

My outputs list:
inj x4
ign x2
ebc
fuel pump
fan
ac
idle pwm valve
shift light
tacho

What ecu would be best for the mission ?
Any IOs I can not implement ?

It is a NA8 1997
Thanks !
Elior

All this and you aint even using sequential ignition? The **** I bolded below is all standard on any MS2/MS3/MSpro/Hydra. As for the rest of your inputs, what are you planning on doing with them? I get a few of them like oil pressure and egt, but some of the stuff like electric load seems fairly pointless. And if "steering load" is just the PS pressure switch, yeah, they all do that too.

My current inputs list:
tps
cam
crank
clt
clutch

turbo speed
egt (x4?)
manifold back pressure
turbo inlet temp
turbo outlet temp
after ic temp -AIT
map
ac
knock
baro

fuel pressure
oil temp
oil pressure
launch control switch
o2
electric load
steering load
log switch
fuel map switch
spark map switch
ebc map switch

My outputs list:
inj x4
ign x2
ebc
fuel pump
fan
ac
idle pwm valve
shift light
tacho

I don't really see the point in seq ign, running wasted spark on COP is easy to do and works the same - correct me if I'm wrong.

Electric load input can help idle drop - if do able on NA8
Steering load is built in the car I just want to utilize it.

My question is what ecu do I need for this amount of IOs (all at the same time of course)

Turbo speed, inlet temp and outlet temp will allow me to pinpoint my location on the turbo map - and I like data...

it makes a big difference. in fueling, enrichment, and your butt-dyno can feel it. wasted spark does NOT work the same. not as much dwell time and less efficient spark/burn.

Do you refer to wasted spark on COP ?

As I learn, the only thing that is effected is the dwell time, and if that is not a problem then it will provide the same results.

seq ign or not, what ecu can give me all the IOs I want ?

Or if you want off-the-shelf, MS3 Pro Ultimate (preorder, also has CAN) which has 12 general-purpose 0-5v inputs.

By the way, you're also missing VVT output. Going for "big power" with an NA8 head is silly.

I got what I got which is NA8 and with 6265 it will make 400hp flywheel - that's my goal.

Enhanced MS3 looks right, what do you think ?

So you want an ECU with 27 inputs and 13 outputs, but the VVT head is just too much trouble to find?

You need to do your own ******* research and stop asking to be spoonfed.

Call the people who make an ECU you want and ask if they can do it.

Stop asking other people to do figure your **** out.

The Vvt head will add complexty and as I saw on the dyno, my friends vvt and my na8 put out the same numbers, vvt gave a nice bump down low.

I tuned them both.

My current inputs list:
tps - Analog
cam - VR input
crank - VR input
clt - Analog
clutch - Digital
turbo speed - (Will need an outside converter box for megasquirt. Other ECUs may support this fast an input built in)
egt (x4?) - (Megasquirt will need a separate box with 4 EGT circuits, some ECUs support this built in)
manifold back pressure - Analog
turbo inlet temp - Analog
turbo outlet temp - Analog
after ic temp - Analog
map - Analog
ac - Digital
knock - Megasquirt needs a knock module, Uses its own pins
baro - Analog
fuel pressure - Analog
oil temp - Analog
oil pressure - Analog
launch control switch - Digital
o2 - Analog
electric load - Voltage drops? Dunno, stupid
steering load - Analog
log switch - Digital
fuel map switch - Digital
spark map switch - Digital
ebc map switch - Digital (or analog if you ball out and do variable boost control ****)

My outputs list:
inj x4
ign x2
ebc

idle pwm valve
shift light
tacho

You need at least 18 Analog inputs and at least 8 digital inputs.

Now go find an ECU that does that.

I don't get it, what the **** do you want from me??

I do my research and ask the manufacturers,
part of my research is to ask here, some of you have a real attitude problem.

One of the forums with the worst attitude towards not super pro members.

no wheel speed for all four wheels? amateur.

edit: some people just can't handle uncommon questions. it's not about pro elite member status. I was a noob too once.

stupid answer tells about the one that gave it.

edit: I'm no noob, I like to ask people that know more then me.

I tune and help people in there projects, I just ask all that is on my mind, some people just do not like.

Actually I'm surprised you don't want wheel sensors with 400 hp, 2000 lb car. launch control is available on the megasquirt platform.

you could consider a standalone logging device rather than putting all that data into the ECU.
