I'm using a display with real time data.
I know a pro drag tuner that uses motec ecu with all (and more) the sensors I want, ok, no ac and idle valve there, but the rest are . |
so is the data you're collecting being used to augment engine functions or not? because if it's not, then it doesn't need to go to the ECU.
you sure a motec m400 can't do idle and ac? |
on drag car ac and idle are not needed.
I use the data for live view, calculations and logging for later analysis . I can use the data in many ways, the haltech elite got this custom functions you can define. |
Sounds like an application for the Extreme MS3.
|
Use a Haltech Elite for all critical sensors then send them out over CAN to a race capture pro or other data logger. Any other nice to have sensors can run into that. The RCP can do 8 analog and 4 digital inputs plus anything the Elite is spitting out over CAN.

A Life Racing F88RS could do what you need.
http://www.liferacing.com/wp-content...ng%20F88RS.pdf Depending on what you do with a dash, you can have more more inputs/outputs. I run a F88RL with a MoTeC c125 with the I/O upgrade for extra sensors and outputs. Price points are very reasonable for such a ecu. |

RCP is very interesting, thanks ! |
On my LS swap car with lots of inputs/outputs, I'll be using an MS3pro and a JBPerf CAN-EGT+ expansion board. Similar capabilities to the MS3pro Ultimate.

it makes a big difference. in fueling, enrichment, and your butt-dyno can feel it. wasted spark does NOT work the same. not as much dwell time and less efficient spark/burn.
Sequential fueling is a different matter, but unless you're running stupidly high RPM then it shouldn't be a power issue on the ignition. There are other considerations such as coil life etc of course. |
