Default Flow Force Filters? FF640 Flowforce

Hi guys,

just got my injectors and there are these little filters included; search on the FF site and here and can't find any info.... Seems intuitive where they'd go but i dont want to screw these up!+

I didn't get those, must be an update. I'd hope they get posted on the website, for those of us that didn't get those.

I sent Nigel@FF a message. He hopefully should be along shortly to tell what they are used for.

Indeed, this is an as-yet-unannounced V3 update!
All new kits now have a new design of fuel rail adapter. The inner hole is turned on a lathe and is slightly tapered to perfectly fit a fuel filter, which are now included as well. Everyone who ordered a kit after August 1 will receive this update free, automagically by mail in about 2 weeks. Anyone else can get the newly designed fuel rail adapters and filters for $10 including shipping (rather than the $36 retail price).

I suppose it's obvious that these filter out small particles that the fuel filter missed, but are there any good reasons to upgrade from the previous setup? Were people having issues with clogged injectors?

How fine is the filter? Down to what micron will it filter out?

There was a guy on miata.net that had written about having issues and I think another manufacturer of similar style injectors had them. I made nigel aware of the issue that was being discussed on there and it looks like he has a solution!

The theory is that it can keep some random dislodged particle from getting itself stuck in the injector. Filter is 39 microns.

Don't the injectors have the filter built in? They're Bosch EV14 right?

EV14, yes. Secondary filter, no.

This model is not equipped with one, hence this addition. I am also really happy with this design. Having the filter in the adapter makes it easy to service, and the taper makes for a solid fitting, despite a surprising amount of variation in the filter diameter.

Are you using stainless filter baskets?

If I just bought the top hat and harness kit, but no injectors, do I count?

You had me at 10 bucks. Thanks Nigel!

I'll swap those in when its time to pull them for emissions testing out here.
