Innovate lc1 reading wrong
Hi all
I hope this is posted in the correct place and hasn't been covered prior. I did search but nothing came up covering the issue.
I have an innovate lc1 working fine for 2 years with limited use but then put the car off the road for 2 years and during that time flattened the battery a few times.
I decided to put the car back on the road and when i started it up the AFR gauge goes to 8 and stays there.
I tried to do a few free air calibrations but to be honest I'm not sure if they where done right as the button I wired up may not be correctly wired so I un plugged the sensor to do the heat Calibration and as part of this I'm led to believe it also does a free air calibration.
This was all done outside the exhaust pipe as instructed but still didn't make a difference.
Could the sensor be broken due been stood and only started a few times as it did look like it had condensation on it.
Or am I missing something simple.
Regards
Andy

Have you connected it to the computer and used logworks (sp?) to see what the sensor is saying? But the sensor is most likely dead, apparently they can be very fickle.

No not yet. I will have a go with log works tomorrow.
I'm not the best on the software side. Is there anything on log works to look for which would indicate the sensor not working?
After one try and calibrating it did sit at around 14.5 whilst idling but as soon as I revd the car it went to 8 and stopped there.

I have wired my LED Light to ground which now flashes codes out. It's flashing 5 times which indicates
Reference cell circuit shorted. This would point to the sensor been damaged and could be as when I plug it in and out I often twist the wires anticlock wise then clockwise to tighten the sensor in the exhaust.
Also checked log works and it reads error 5 as above.
I know this is a bit stupid and I'm probably paying the price for it.
Could a short from any part of the innovate lc1 wiring cause this error or is it likely to be the sensor as the code suggests?
My only concern is my wiring behind my dash isn't the best and it is possible that the wires may short behind there.
