Knock Sensor Setting (MS3Pro?) Revisit
This is sorta a call out to Jason, but also just a general question...
Some time ago, Jason did some recordings and FFT's to figure out where to get the best signal out of the stock knock sensor.
Since I have the MS3Pro and I can pick a frequency, I used it. But I've never been able to get a baseline I like, it's got ups and downs to dodge noise while staying tight... And I miss knock I can hear just from driving at the low end.
I'm wondering if perhaps the theoretical numbers might work better in practice - ie, maybe it's not peak signal, but signal to noise... Or maybe I'm just looking in too narrow a window or something.
Anyway - I was wondering if anyone played with the settings, or has put knock in or out and has a solid suggestion about what numbers they like, etc.
The motor is a big valved VVT motor with some forged but otherwise stock sized bits.
