For those of us not initimiately familiar with the Reverant ECU lineup, can anyone tell me if my Enhanced MS2 will work with these tabs?
Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the case handy and it's cold enough here I'm not looking forward to taking it out right now. |
Serial number?

Great, your ECU is identical to the newer Basic MS3s, so it should fit.
|
Bracket should be here on Saturday, however I'm working Saturday and Sunday all day. So hopefully Mondayish I'll be able to test fit the MS3 on Oregonmon's build.
RYAN (ThePass)! Is there a tracking number for the Rev brackets? |
I dropped your Rev brackets off at Good-Win Racing just before your order shipped, so they are in the same box :)
-Ryan |
Woot!
|
So how well did the new adapter brackets fit the Rev ECU? Any pics?
|
Any brackets for the NA8 anytime soon Ryan?
|
NA8 has all the studs and holes for the NA6 location, if you snag a kick panel and mounting bracket from a junkyard.
Brackets fit good with small modifications, I'll let Ryan figure out if he wants to release the photos or wait for another part revision. |

A couple small tweaks to be made as I was working off of dimensions as opposed to having a unit in my hands.
Should have things sorted out and updated versions made by end of this coming week. Here is one of the two adapter brackets that fits to the reverent ECU. The box doesn't have any mounting provisions, so these tabs attach to two of the case bolts on each end and then align to a set of holes that are on the ECU bracket itself. This pic shows a small screw in the center of the case which the bracket needs a small notch in to clear and sit flush. The new version will clear this: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1418331467 The other thing to note is the Reverent ECUs are big - larger than any of the other common units. The bracket is designed to maximize space under the kick panel, but with the height of these ECUs to fit them you need to do a little clearancing of the three downward-protruding dimples in the kick panel. Two minutes with a hammer and work table while the panel is out of the car will sort this: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1418331467 Here is Curly's Rev box mounted with adapters to our bracket (like I said, it's big). Yes, it does sit flat on the bracket - the perspective of the pic is just a little funky: http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/e...psezj8j3v6.jpg Will get to work on the tweaks and let you guys know as soon as it's ironed out. -Ryan |
Huh, didn't realize how decieving that last picture was. It is indeed between the two bends.
Also, if you bash the kick panel on the floor it'll bend the upper mount. Place it on a couple 2x4s with the mount hanging off. And wear ear protection. I'm still a little deaf. |
I've already stripped out one of those screws on my ECU :giggle:
|
What about slipping a thin sheet of foam padding between the ECU and the protective metal cover?

Finally some updates!
Reverent ECUs: We've worked everything out for the Reverent Enhanced ECUs. Now when you order one of the ECU brackets through Good-Win Racing, just put a note during checkout that you need the tabs to fit the Reverent ECU and we'll throw them in the same box. No extra cost. 1999-2005 ECU Bracket: It's here! Built to fit your aftermarket ECU in the factory location under the dash of the NB miatas. Accommodates all the same ECUs as the 90-93 version; AEM, Megasquirt, MS3 Pro, Adaptronic. Singular Motorsports Miata ECU Bracket for '99+ for Miata 1999-2005 Here it is, finished in our new "Chrome" powdercoat which is now standard; https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1424389505 1990-1993 Bracket Updates: The early-model brackets also come standard in our new powdercoat now: Singular Motorsports Miata ECU Bracket for Miata 1990-1993 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1424389505 PRICE Updates: So we've added more features to the brackets... price needs to go up right? Nope! We've been working to streamline the production process for these and keep our costs under our target. This has allowed us to DROP the price to $59 for both ECU models! The new pricing is live on Good-Win Racing. -Ryan |
By "Reverent Enhanced ECUs" are you talking about the entire line of ECUs, including the MS3 Basic or is this literally only for the "Enhanced" versions of the MS2/MS3? Its not like I can't drill holes in my MS3 Basic to make it fit, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.
Good to see a mounting solution none the less. This is the only thing left that I WANT to spend money on, rather than NEED to spend money on. Keep up the good work! :bigtu: |

I too would like clarification on which Reverent models will fit. I have one that looks like this:
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1424392470 Will that fit with the Reverent-specific tabs? |
Yes. Previous built ms3s were in a standard DIYautotune box (which has mounting tabs) and his ms2e were also in a standard ms3 box afaik.
|
Yeah, what Midpack said. I couldn't scare up the picture fast enough, but that's the same one I have. Both ECU and question ;)
|
Excellent. Ordered mine and if it takes anything else to make the MS2E fit I'll post the modifications.
As soon as I can get the car out of the snow and into the garage. |

I've made up the Reverent ECU adapter tabs that should allow MSLabs ECUs to fit Singular Motorsports ECU brackets. It turned out that our local guy with a Rev ECU had one of the old-style behemoth units *note: there is no hope for those to fit our brackets, sorry to those who have that model* |
Just to check, it will fit this style rev built ms2e?

Bracket is nicely made and that chrome powdercoat is awesome. Don't mind the zipties, couldn't find any bolts small enough. It's all sitting in the drivers seat right now, it's too cold to be working in the garage.

So that's your doing? It looks awesome, even better in person than the pictures. I can't decide if hood louvers would look good or ricey in it. You guys should powdercoat a set and post some pictures! Preferably on a TiGrey.
|
I tried to leave a review on the louvers a while back, my only suggestion was to offer them pre-bent, sanded, and powdercoated. That would take a lot of time out of it. It took a lot longer than I thought to do those steps, but I spray-painted them. I will eventually get them powdercoated for durability.
Midpack - the louvers don't look ricey at all. They do grab a little attention. The louvers make my car look way meaner than it should. This past week I got my car aligned at TX Track Works. All Miata guys proceeded to ask what hood I had, where I got the louvers, etc. As far as effectiveness, it's fun watching water droplets shoot vertically on the highway when its raining outside. They move a LOT of air. |
I'm not worried about the louvers themselves being ricey. Already have a set waiting to be installed anyway. Function > form. I was thinking chome powdercoated lovuvers might be a little shiny for my tastes. Anyway this is enough about louvers. Buy yourselves an ecu bracket.

The brackets, they are sweet:
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...1&d=1425103358 I have only one complaint. Sean. Ryan. Out of multiple orders, I have received ONE STICKAR. You can see it, prominently displayed in the above picture. Vendor fail! Multiple stickers must be enclosed with every order, or we might start to think you are secretly somehow part of IB and the whole MT.net subscriber sticker fail! Layeth the stickerth upon me, my brotherth! |
$13 shipping + $5 sales tax = :barf:
I better get a sticker :brain: |

Now, if only the weather would cooperate so I can drag the car out of the snow and into the garage. BTW, I guess stickers must've run out.... nada!

OK you sticker lovers,
Up to now, I've been making every decal myself. We use decals for our logos on most of the parts as well, so I've had my hands full just cranking out enough to go on products, let alone extras to throw in the boxes. I apologize for this and we hear your cries! Looking into getting decals made from here on out, and once we have something lined up we'll make them available to anyone on MT.net who may be feeling there is a deficiency in their decal quota. -Ryan |
I'm taking my sticker business to Stolzfahren Graphics.
They've got quick turn-around times. |

Despite the lack of decals ;) these are selling faster than we are making them. Good problem to have. We're increasing batch size.
Thanks you guys! -Ryan |
I'm surprised it took so long to someone to develop these. And for the price why not?

Good eye! He actually has one, I know because I gave it to him, just needs a shank and some hole drillage.
|
Maybe Singular can fab up a bracket to replace the duct tape. Something similar to the phantom coil brackets.

Ryan, please compare my MS Labs (Reverant) Basic MS3 and Singular Motorsports 90-93 ECU bracket to those pictured in quotes below. It seems that my bracket is much more narrow than others. I get that midpack has a 2004 so his bracket is different. But curly has a 1993 and his ECU seems to fit his bracket just fine?
Although the little 90* bracket feet fit my ECU case, there's no way my ECU will fit on the Singular Motorsports ECU bracket using those feet even if I turn them inside out and use low profile mounting screws. Ideally, my bracket would be at least 3" wider so that I can use the 90* bracket feet the way they're intended to be used. Am I only supposed to be using 1 of the 2 bracket feet and supplementing with zip ties and/or velcro? Or did you change the design at some point? It's hard for me to tell from the picture but it looks like curly might be using only 1 of the brackets whereas midpack is using both. Is that the difference between the 90-93 and the 99+ brackets? https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440970994 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440970994 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440970994 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440970994 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440970994 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440970994

You have the older V2.2 unit, whereas Curly has the newer V3.0 unit that is a lot smaller.
|
Thanks for the info. When was the changeover from v2.2 cases to v3.0?
|
2 Attachment(s)
I'm sorted. Zip ties and industrial strength velcro to the rescue. Never mind the rust in the passenger footwell. The bracket that the ECU cover mounts to got wet years ago when the AC evaporator drain line got blocked up.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440978335 https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1440978335 |
The transition was gradual. The first V3.0 units were the 01-05, the first one was sold on January of 2014, while the last 2.2 was sold on May of 2014.
|
How come there are no MS3 brackets for 94-95 cars? (ECU behind passenger seat)
I suppose I could move it to the footwell and go junkyard shopping for a kickplate, but that's more work :P |

Yeah, I hear that. I haven't heard of many requests for brackets in the behind-the-seat location either.
It won't be hard to fab up a quick little bracket out of some angle stock, it just won't be nearly as pretty as the ones you guys make. I wish the MS3 cases had some tabs built in... |
I too wish there was a bracket for the 94-97s. I'd buy one in a heart beat. Would beat my zip tie jerry-rigged method...
