SpeedUino with terrible base Map :(
hey guys i have a 1.6 NB that i bought a prebuilt spiedino for. The basemap I received is absolutely terrible and i cant get the car to run smoothly. can I get some help plz? the base map is attached. I have only been messing with the ve table the spark table will be tuned once i can get the car running.

What problems are you having exactly? Does the car start, warmup and idle? Can you provide a log of your issues? Do you have a wideband sensor?
There is quite a bit to be done on your tune but a few points of improvements are
- Idle ignition advance is not on. This helps a lot with idle tuning.
- Closed-loop Idle control settings have P, I, and D as 0. Is that working? Maybe start with open-loop control and give it the values that make your car idle at or close to target.
- Acceleration enrichment threshold is very high. Usually done when tuning the VE table at first, but keep it in mind. Is your TPS properly calibrated?
- Target AFR is not incorporated in the VE calculation. I would turn that on.
- Run a bit richer AFRs to start with. Maybe 14 at idle, and no more than 14.7 when cruising. You have 15.1 in a few areas.

HI thanks for the reply. I have a wideband installed. What happens is when I first started the car it would get stuck around a map kpa of 70 and an rpm of 2000. As for the idle control valve I haven't messed with it as I cant seem to get the car to idle with a decent afr (idles way over 20/1). The tps threshold was brought up so I could use VE Analyze. Lastly i will add afr to the fuel calculation.

Without a datalog it's all a guessing game, so please grab a log and post it. If the car is idling that high then it is getting air from somewhere and my guess is your idle valve is open too much. I suggest you switch to open-loop idle control and change the duty cycle to lower the idle to the target you want to have (Startup/Idle > Idle - PWD Duty Cycle). Once you have the car idling and make sure your TPS and Wideband sensors are calibrated then you can play with closed-loop control. I'm not familiar with SpeedUino to offer help with the Wideband setup, but make sure you calibrate it in TunerStudio to match your controller (Tools > Calibrate AFR Sensor), and that it is wired in properly. Also, this is a 1.6 NB Miata? Does it use the same idle valve as a 1.8 NB? If so, 300Hz is what I use on my 1.8 valve.
I noticed your spark table is locked at 10 degrees as well. Did you already set the base timing?
The attached MSQ has the idle valve changes I would suggest (assuming is the same valve as a 1.8), and it also has idle ignition control enabled.
