Default starting/idle issues

hello, i have a 91 1.6 with a speedino pnp which i have two issues that seem to be related. firstly with the afm unplugged i can not get the car to start, i made sure to unplug the st-sig fuse, i have even tried jumping the connections for the fuel pump bot from the afm plug and the diagnostic box. Secondly if i have the afm plugged in it will start but wont idle unless i keep my foot on the throttle, i can even drive the car around like that and watching the afr it stays relatively good but the second my foot is off the throttle it trys to die or dies. i feel like the ecu might not be controlling the fuel pump but am not sure, any suggestions on what it could be? im going to attach a copy of the basemap im running. I do have a wideband installed, and a vtps for once i can actually get into tunning.

Idle is not controlled by the fuel pump. The engine would not run if the fuel pump was not running. Does it go rich or lean before it dies?

It sounds to me like the Idle Air Control is not working correctly to catch the decel.

Does the Speeduino have idle control or do you have to delete the valve and use the throttle bypass screw to adjust idle?
I browsed the site briefly but was unable to answer that question.

speedunio does have idle control, and i had messed with it quite a bit. It always leaned out when it died i will see if i have any data logs from then. last night i checked timing with a buddys light that read a much different result than mine did, adjusted my timing and brought it back to ten. Still cant get it to start without the afm and have not tried with mainly wanted to check and see if i could hear the fuel pump kicking on, which it definitely isn't. i switched it back to stock ecu and i can hear it loud and clear.

Also a speeduino user here and i have the exact same problems with stalling out. I have a Turbosetup and no AFM. NB2 throttle body and IACV on an NA8 engine.
Even without idle control at all and messing with the screw (i know, i know, i should leave it where it is, but i was desperate) it dies.

Got every sensor calibrated and have wideband/vtps, everything looks good, but can't make the car to idle without 2-3% throttle.
Will upload tune and log later, when i'm home.

My fuel pump (DW200) is priming and running, can hear it every time i turn the key or go from offline to online, but had to jump the pins in the diag-box.

Have you set your fuel pump pin to A9 in TS like the manual says?

i bought mine from a company whos building them, so i didn't construct mine and the instructions didn't have much along the lines of the fuel pump except to remove the st_sig fuse first thing i have tried to jump the pins both in the box and the afm connector. ill definitely try again.

I have the pnp unit from josh stewart (he is also here on the board, see thread -> https://www.miataturbo.net/ecus-tuni...ino-ecu-50695/ from page 15)

Is your 1.6 a US car?
