Default splicing NB x-16 connector into NA main harness?

i ran into an issue when swapping a 2005 1.8l vvt engine into my 1996 miata. i bought an NB wiring harness and NB ecu but overlooked the connection to the main/dash harness. the blue x-16 connector on the wiring harness cannot plug in anywhere on my NA, and i can't find where i would splice the x-16 connector in. i know i will probably need a standalone. but how can i make the NB harness communicate with my the rest of my NA. if you have diagrams of the x-16 and the corresponding connector that would be greatly appreciated.

Use the NA harness.

Hi, did you manage to do that? I'm in a process of swapping 1.8vvt to my 94 and I want to use stock nbfl ECU to control engine. Guy that sell me this motor with harness said to me I need to splice x16 connector to my 94 harness but I can't find any info on that. Thanks

I would run the NA8 ECU with an RPM switch for the VVT activation. The 94 should have sequential injection and the cam angle sensor harness will support the cam & crank sensors. FM has a section on doing swaps with some information.

I would really prefer to use nb harness and ECU. It can't be that hard to splice in old harness, i just can't find any info on that. Could you please help me?

There isn't any information out there about how to do it. Because no one does it. You will have to go get the wiring diagrams and figure out how to do it yourself. It is not an easy or trivial thing to do.
