Question 1.6 Engine Rebuild

Heyo, Im 17 Just got a 1990 Mazda miata and I want to turbo it but I want to rebuild the engine before I boost it. What are the main components I need to rebuild it and where is a good source to purchase. IM debating if I should go for coilers first or just start into the rebuild process.

go on ebay and buy a JDM 1.8 the 1.6 will cost just as much to rebuild only reason i'm doing a 1.6 is i had the parts to rebuild it or i would of swap to the 1.8 or go to the junk yard and get a 1.8 to rebuild over time and set it up for turbo then swap them out

The main-est component is a 1.8L block/crank

No limit motorsports gave me a good deal on parts...
What the heck is a coiler...???
Is that what the kids are calling it now a days?
Last time it was Netflix and chill or something.

I really don't know what a coiler is..

take it from someone who has an clapped out N/A 1.6 with big **** Off cams & compression & various other bits.

take the plunge on the 1.8 if you're re building.

But its not as simple as that.

even if you stay with the 1.6 you need to think about
power you want to achieve
suspension
Diff
brakes
what is wrong, If anything, with your current B6

Then you can ask again.

as a general rule, for a high powered build
pistons
Rods
valves
oil pump
balancing rotational assembly.
just depends where you want to go

you can whack on a turbo.....with stock internals up 200-250 whp to a fair amount of boost. But boost is where it's all about the tune......but as soon as you start rebuilding, rebuild a 1.8 not a 1.6

Remember to replace the turbo encabulator and spurvong bearings so the panametric fan doesn't fall off.
