Default 1.6 swapping a 1.6...

Yes, the title is correct. I did an oopsie poopsie and ran my engine without oil (apparently you have to tighten the plug with a socket and not just fingertight) and now I need a new bottom end I beleive. Instead of going through the hassle and rebuilding my f***** up engine, I got an offer to buy a nb 1.6 as a replacement. I am currently running a -91 1.6 diy turbo engine with mspnp2. Will i need to adjust the loom or will this be as simple as just pulling the engine and installing the new one with the same harness and connectors? will it fit with my current 5 spd transmission?

I cant really wrap my head around what would be different with the nb 1.6 and the na 1.6.

Regards
Davinci

the na & nb 1.6 is basically the same engine

from what I've read, the nb engine has a seperate cam & crank sensors at the timing belt (front) end of the engine and a blanking-plug on the rear inlet cam cap but these can be removed & the na combined cas can be fitted on the rear of the head. - the na camcover will fit the nb engine if you don't want the cam sensor or a hole where it was?

also the nb uses a slightly different inlet manifold (& front thermostat housing - if you've not fitted a reroute?) but your na setup will transfer over.

aother item to swap from the na engine is the oilpressure sender so the car's gauge reads as it should.
