It ended up being $2,300. But essentially, yes, with Wiseco 9:1 pistons and Eagle rods. And that's for an engine that I didn't even keep the head on. I took a '99 head from my spare spec parts and did some pocket porting, acid washed the runners, back-cut the valves, polished the full exhaust runners, did some minor unshrouding, SuperTech valve seals, new guides, and Volvo valve springs.

I could have done a lot more with the money spent, but I probably would have paid the same to have a bottom end built in the end after labor costs.

You live and learn, but I wish I would have learned a little sooner in this case.
