You could email Dick Bipes and ask him.

My guess would be that the only major difference is the color of the case.

The color of the case indicates who it was originally bought from. Internally, there is no difference. The grey/white case is a BEGI Bipes. The black case is a MX5Mad, BPR, or SOT Bipes unit.
