1.Buy a bottle of Conventional oil, Dump it down the storm drain.
2. Fill your car with Synthetic of your choice.
3. IF your engine does go boom, show the mechanic the bottle of convention and say " I used dino oil, duuuuuuuuuuuh"

I've been running Valvoline 10w/30 in my modified Mazdaspeed6 for awhile (~310 AWD-HP). Here's a couple Blackstone analysis results from it:

Wow thanks for all the knowledge. I really hope I dont have a blown piston ring already. Engine tuner say the engine looks really good on the dyno so if a ring is blown its probably an oil ring. I burned about a 1/4 quart of oil in about 800 miles after sum dyno time and hard driving, but mechanic says this is typical. I will talk to the old guy (Mechanic) about Rotella T3 and see what he says thanks again.

FWIW i used 1/4 a quart in 6000 miles on my 120k mile 1.8l.

Good info on the blackstone oil report. How much did it cost?

I use Castrol GTX in my turbo outback. I haven't had it for too long, but I trust it.
