Dude why stop there? I'm building a quint-turbo setup.

curly 03-14-2009 10:10 PM

I'm feeding a turbo with the compressed air of another turbo, beat that.

Please give us the name of the member helping you, so we can bash him for giving a man a fish.

I hope its Hyper:bowrofl:

Fuck turbos and go twin superchargers.

Why would you swap a 2jz into a car that already had a 2jz? Granted the head is a bit off but lifters and springs will solve that.

Braineack 03-14-2009 10:39 PM

One of these setups is a twin turbo miata 1.8L, the other is a single turbo 1.8L

can you name which is which?

Compounding :ne: sequential.

curly 03-14-2009 11:01 PM

oh shit wait Audi actually does that. Damn, I can't even have dumb ideas when I try!

Looks like the single turbo made 1.5hp less but 24 more ft/lbs. I'll take the torque please.

Braineack 03-14-2009 11:12 PM

dammit, i meant that. :vash:

bmw does it too:

holy catalytic converter batman!

i'd honestly like to see a compound boosted miata.. not two turbos, but a jrsc being fed by a single turbo.. roots power down low, and after the efficiency of the eaton droops off, the turbo takes over and has spooled waaaay up.. awesome hp curve..

(i'm seasoned to eaton blowers, and know their nature... and absolutely despise the amount of heat they generate at high rpms, and thats why i'm ditching the one on my tbird for a turbo setup)

disturbedfan121 03-15-2009 01:58 AM

you would need the cold side supercharger kit to "twincharge" the car and the cold side sc kit is not cheap in the least

turbo, supercharger, valves, blah blah blah. If you want power down low, power in the middle, and power up top I have a simple answer for you: v8 swap

i'm planning a v6 swap with a supercoupe engine.. reason behind being here, is i'm turboing my 92 as an inbetween cheapie project while i hoard parts. (at this point, i need martins bits, and a shortblock.... i have a topend and an ecu laying around....
