So from what I gather, ID are EV14's that are flow matched much tighter than buying four OTS EV14's. Is that a big enough benefit to the standard EV14. You can buy EV14's for $50-$60/ea. ID's are... well, more.

If I run them like Savington says at approx 90PSI at WOT, 550's will be more than enough since the base pressure will be in the 70's.

 

Only 1st hand exp I have is with the ID's and they were excellent. Pretty much the best. You can look on every forum and thats pretty much the verdict right now.

Going off what subaru guys are reporting on the Boschs, they're a hit and miss. Theres a bunch of people with them running without any issues, and a few that reported issues (mainly inconsistencies, idle misfires, etc) from the improper matchup between flow rates. These are all 1000-1600cc injectors too, so they might be different from the 500 boschs.

No, that helps. It's info I can use. I havn't done a ton of reading on the Bosch, only the ID. And when I found out the ID are basically flow matched Bosch and cost way more why not... right? I'll do a bit more searching. The link I posted (egay) says they match them before sending out. I sent him a message to see if they have flow charts.

 

One particular issue a few people reported is: they had 3 closely matched boschs and one that was off. They sent them back, the company gladly exchanged them for another set, and this other set also had one that was off. If they would just take 1 from the 1st set and 3 from the 2nd, they'd have a good set of 4, but somehow in that instance the seller was either too stupid or stubborn to do that.

Make absolutely sure they give you a flow chart, and preferably IF YOU CAN get them to give you the flow readings on a certain set before you buy them that would be fantastic. Doubt they'd do that tho

 

I'm currently in the process of switching from the stock purple Denso injectors to Fuel Injector Clinic EV14s. So far I had been installing the PNP 650cc and 850cc EV14s from fiveohmotorsports, however it was brought to my attention that these large flow rates can't be attained reliably with the round connector (Sumitomo) version of the EV14 (ie the injector has been vandalized to get such large flow rates). I installed a set of 650cc EV14s from FIC the other day and I was very pleased, once again. They are of course, fully matched, down to +/-2cc or so, and come with a datasheet of flow rates, dead times, etc.

Matches up with what Vlad says about the "hit or miss" experience that Subaru guys have - if you get one or two injectors that are 10-15% low at idle, the car isn't going to run right at light throttle.

I don't think I've ever heard a bad word uttered about a set of ID injectors.

 

Thanks for the link sav. I think that right there has sold me on the ID. For the modest cost increase I think it's worth it.
