can i delete IAC valve on 1.6
I enjoy a/c idle up with my MS. I think removing it on a street car is silly, especially if the only reason is to uncutter the engine bay, or removing on less thing that will fail.
I've blown a few motors, shall I remove that too?

For those like me who don't have AC/PS and aren't bothered by some inconsistency until warm up, then it's just one more thing you need to package which is necessarily needed.
For me it made my coolant reroute and my intercooler piping far easier to accomplish (and simpler). Any aesthetic benefit was a resultant, not an intention.

I only used my IAC with the MS for warm up and had it set to turn off when the car was warm. Now that my car is only going to see the weekends and track days I just took it off. With no PS or A/C there is not need. If you have either, or DD the car... keep it.
What is the purpose of the coolant lines going into the IAC? Are they actually necessary to run with the IAC plumbed or can they be dry?
you can remove the coolant lines, but I'm not sure if there is enough range of movement in the IAC valve without the wax valve operating.
ok cool! I figured it was something to that nature, but just wanted to check.
Also, you stated that yours is blocked off. Mines not blocked off, both the valve on the IM and the valve in the TB are just sitting there high and dry.

This removal causes a cel correct?? Anyway to get around that?
Wont have any driveability issues other then idle drop/stall when clutch in. And idle raise for p/s and a/c Which i dont have

Well i was in the cleanup/simplify redo few things with new greddy turbo setup car i bought. Already yanked off. Dumb possibly but a lil **** idle while cold doesnt bother me much as im in vegas so pretty brief time till warm.
Finally got car back together and having issues with shitty driving. Have a cel for the isc code which was removal of this and another for charcoal/smog ****. Both i thought i removed on old car too with no issues.
We have tried bypassing the fmu and bipes removal with no help. This was a new to me car so trying to figure out ****. Im guessing a 190walbro and 550s w mspnp gonna be quikly on my list
