I've got some waiting to get put in my motor. Plenty of guys around here use rods in the $300-$400 range with success. If you do some searching you'll find either Eagle, M-Tuned, or similar H-beams (all in the same price range) in most engine builds on here.

You could try searching using the term "eagle rods" here on this forum.

You won't need to do much more than that. The answer will be obvious.

I was really impressed with the apparent quality and fitment of the rods when I installed them. I don't think enough people have pushed them hard enough to come up with any kind of realistic power limit. They've remained in-tact and inside the block so far, I've got no complaints.

Not Eagle but SGIetc (some numbers on the side of them) Hrods for close to nothing at eBay:
Builder said they were very ok, even Carillos etc don't have any better balance (bigend/smallend) and the small end had he right tolerances (China Rods can be a bit tight in his experience, easy fix).

So there is probably no magic left in this field (The ones who are doing it are doing it well enough). If in doubt, just get new ones, they are almost getting close to bearing prices.

Hmm, wouldn't it be very useful if we could make search links in the foum (as simple and obvious as google search links). It would of course work against the frank "friendliness" of MT.net but ...
Google

Noob? Spoon fed? Lucky I got this far? Don't believe I was the first one with and attitude and I'm damn sure not "new" to a garage bro.. New to a forum just means I haven't had the pleasure of listening to to people like you rattle off a bunch of "you should google it" comments instead of actually answering a question.... I don't care if you have been whoring this sight longer than me don't mean you gotta be a DICK!!!!!

No one gives a ---- if you're the worlds best car builder. You're a noob on MT and expected to at least try and search for something on your topic. We don't spoon feed and don't like noobs who get butt hurt.

But if you feel like you're special, then please, keep trying.

Why buy eagle rods when SGI, Crankshaft Depot, SCAT, ETD, and CXRacing all sell them for $50-$150 cheaper on Ebay or through other vendors?

You are not paying for any higher quality, I can assure you that.

Most platforums consider eagle rods to be crap, then again their cars don't want to self destruct at 350whp. Any of the cheap rods will be the same thing and work just fine, unless you are chasing 500+hp. Put that extra money saved towards a billet oil pump or balancing the rotating assembly.

I agree with you bro.... I am chasing 400hp and deciding to run eagle was something I was sorta talked into cause I had been dead set on carrillos... But since I saved $1000 on the rods te engine will be done that much sooner.. Only thing my bottom end lacks is a rebuild kit and oil/water pumps

Well talk yourself into buying one of the many cheaper options, no sense in paying more for the exact same product. Many people on this board have purchased the cheap rods off ebay. They come with ARP hardware, are matched just as well as the m-tuned were, and look identical. Crankshaft depot even admitted they produced the SCAT rods, I would not be surprised if all these differently branded china rods were the same thing. Its probably why m-tuned stopped selling theirs, why pay $150 more for the same ----? They didn't even offer better service. Wanted $180 for one replacement rod. BS.
